Teeth Cleaning/Treating Periodontal Disease

Teeth Cleaning

Regular teeth cleanings are vital to your oral health. We recommend that each patient come into our practice once every six months to have their teeth cleaned by a professional hygienist.

During your cleaning, each tooth will be checked. We’ll remove any plaque and tartar buildup that cannot be removed with conventional brushing, and clean and polish your teeth with precise dental tools and techniques. Teeth cleanings prevent decay and keep smiles healthy and beautiful.

Each cleaning also provides our staff with an opportunity to check up on you every six months and see how you and your smile are doing. Regular cleanings at the dentist are very important, but they serve another equally important purpose: allowing us to check for anything out of the ordinary. A lot can happen in six months, from cavities to infection, and we are committed to using your six-month checkup to make sure your overall dental health is excellent.

Treating Periodontal Disease

Periodontal Disease occurs when the gums of teeth become infected. The infections tends to spread once it starts. If it is not treated quickly and effectively, the infection can seriously damage or destroy the jawbone. With regular treatment for your periodontal disease, we can help your gums stay healthy. Periodontal disease can affect just about anyone, but it can be treated by a qualified dental professional.

At our practice, we discover the cause of your periodontal disease first and prescribe personalized treatments depending on each unique case. We may recommend scaling and root planing or other deep cleaning treatments that we can perform in-office. Depending on the severity of your symptoms, we’ll make adjustments to make sure you receive the care you need. To find out more about what treatment options are available, feel free to call our office. We would be happy to answer any questions you may have.
